Note History & Previous Notes
Every time you generate a note for a patient (Auto Fill or AI Note), a summary of that note is saved as a Previous Note. The AI uses the most recent Previous Note as context for the next visit, so your documentation gets more consistent and accurate over time.
How Previous Notes work
Previous Notes save automatically — you don’t need to do anything. On the next visit, the AI sees what happened last time so it can:
- Maintain continuity-of-care language across notes.
- Reference prior treatment activities and how the patient responded.
- Track progress or changes in status from visit to visit.
- Avoid repeating the same phrasing verbatim.
Viewing and reusing a Previous Note
- Open a patient’s card.
- Scroll to the Previous Notes section. Each saved note shows its date and an ACTIVE / SYNCED badge — Active means it’s the one currently being used as context for new notes; Synced means it has been backed up to your account so it’s available on your other devices.
- Tap View to see the full saved content.
- From the Select Patient modal, you can also recover a Previous Note if you’ve deleted the original — it’ll restore the patient with their most recent saved note as the starting point.
Cross-device sync
Previous Notes sync to your account automatically, so when you sign in on another device (iPad, iPhone, Mac), your patients’ Previous Notes are already there. This means you can switch devices mid-day and pick up exactly where you left off.
How the AI uses Previous Notes
When generating a new note, the AI receives:
- The patient’s eval summary (long-term clinical context)
- The most recent Previous Note (last visit’s content)
- Your custom instructions for that patient or globally
For example, if last visit’s note mentioned the patient tolerated 10 reps of an exercise, today’s note can reference progression or regression from that baseline.
Tips
- The more notes you generate for a patient, the better the AI’s contextual awareness becomes.
- If a note summary doesn’t accurately reflect a visit, you can edit it directly.
- Previous Notes sync with the Voice App, so notes generated on either platform are available in both.
