PDF Upload & AI Summarize

PDF Upload lets you import evaluation documents directly into the extension. Combined with AI Summarize, it extracts a structured clinical summary from the PDF so you do not have to type the eval summary manually.

How to Upload a PDF

1. Add a new patient or edit an existing patient.
2. Click Upload PDF in the eval summary section.
3. Select the PDF file from your device.
4. The document is loaded into the extension.

PHI Scrubbing

Before the PDF content is processed by AI, SOAP Note Buddy automatically scrubs Protected Health Information (PHI) from the text. This includes patient names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and other identifiers. The scrubbing happens locally on your device before any data is sent to the AI service.

AI Summarize

After uploading, click AI Summarize to have the AI read the evaluation and produce a structured summary. The summary extracts key clinical information:

• Diagnosis and medical history
• Precautions and contraindications
• Current functional status and baseline measurements
• Treatment goals
• Relevant prior level of function

The AI-generated summary is placed into the eval summary field, where you can review and edit it.

Tips

• Review the AI-generated summary for accuracy before saving. Verify that key details like diagnosis, goals, and precautions are correct.
• You can edit the summary after generation to add details the AI may have missed.
• Upload the most recent and comprehensive evaluation available for the best results.
