Extension Not Loading
If clicking the SOAP Note Buddy icon does nothing, the popup is blank, or the extension is not responding, follow these steps in order.
Quick Fixes
- Refresh the page. Close and reopen the extension popup, then try again.
- Check that the extension is enabled. Go to your browser’s extension management page and verify SOAP Note Buddy is toggled on.
- Chrome/Brave: Type
chrome://extensions/in the address bar - Safari (Mac): Safari menu > Settings > Extensions
- Safari (iOS): Settings app > Safari > Extensions
- Chrome/Brave: Type
- Disable and re-enable the extension. Toggle it off, wait a few seconds, then toggle it back on.
If Quick Fixes Do Not Work
- Clear your browser cache. Cached data can occasionally interfere with extension loading.
- Chrome/Brave: Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data > Cached Images and Files
- Safari: Safari menu > Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Restart your browser. Close all browser windows completely, then reopen.
- Check for browser updates. An outdated browser can cause extension compatibility issues. Update to the latest version.
Last Resort
- Reinstall the extension. Remove SOAP Note Buddy from your browser, then install it again from the Chrome Web Store or Safari App Store.
Your patient data is synced to the cloud, so reinstalling will not cause data loss. Once you sign back in, your patients, summaries, and settings will sync back automatically.
