Safari-Specific Issues

Safari handles browser extensions differently than Chrome. Here are solutions to the most common Safari-specific issues.

Enabling the Extension

On Mac:

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Go to Safari menu > Settings > Extensions.
  3. Find SOAP Note Buddy and check the box to enable it.
  4. Grant the requested permissions when prompted.

On iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Safari.
  3. Tap Extensions.
  4. Tap SOAP Note Buddy.
  5. Toggle it on and set permissions to “Allow.”

Extension Disappears or Stops Working

If the extension icon disappears from the toolbar or stops responding:

This is normal Safari behavior. Unlike Chrome, Safari closes the extension popup when you click anywhere outside of it. SOAP Note Buddy preserves your state, so when you reopen the popup, you will return to where you left off. No data is lost.

Persistent Issues

If the extension continues to malfunction after trying the steps above:

  1. Remove the extension from Safari > Settings > Extensions.
  2. Reinstall from the App Store.
  3. Re-enable and grant permissions.

Your data is synced to the cloud, so reinstalling will not cause data loss. Sign in after reinstalling and your patients and settings will sync back.
