Delete Your SOAP Note Buddy Account
You can permanently delete your SOAP Note Buddy account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion and what happens to your data.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)
iOS / Android app
- Open the SOAP Note Buddy app.
- Tap the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the prompt — your account, patients, notes, and any active subscription are deleted immediately.
Chrome / Safari extension
- Click the SOAP Note Buddy icon in your browser toolbar to open the popup.
- Open Settings from the popup menu.
- Scroll to Account and click Delete Account.
- Confirm the prompt — your account, patients, notes, and any active subscription are deleted immediately.
Option 2 — Email request
If you can't access the app, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account." We will process the request and confirm completion within 30 days (typically within 24 hours).
What gets deleted
The following data is permanently erased as part of account deletion:
- Account record — your email, name, and login credentials
- All patients stored under your account
- All clinical notes you have written or generated
- Cloud-cached last note — SOAP Note Buddy temporarily caches your most recent note, last voice transcription, and last AI-generated note in cloud storage to support recovery and sync. All cached copies are erased when the account is deleted.
- Active subscription — any active Stripe subscription is canceled immediately
- Profile preferences — discipline selection, templates, settings
Note: SOAP Note Buddy is local-first — patient records and notes live on your device. Cloud storage is limited to the most recent note artifacts only. Deleting the account removes the cloud-side copies; uninstalling the app removes the on-device copies.
What is retained (and for how long)
A small amount of data is retained after account deletion because we are legally required to keep it. None of this retained data includes Protected Health Information (PHI).

After the retention periods above expire, all remaining data is permanently purged.
